Poppy's Cottage - Matlock

As you step inside, you’re greeted by a warm and inviting open living room, complete with plush sofas and a crackling open fire. Sink into the cushions as you unwind in front of the TV after a day of exploring the scenic wonders of Matlock. Please remember to place the guard in front of the fire when it’s lit for safety.

Adjacent to the living room lies the open plan kitchen and dining area, where delicious meals and shared memories are made. The well-equipped kitchen features an under counter oven, gas hob, washing machine, toaster, and kettle, ensuring all your culinary needs are met. A handy under stairs cupboard houses the fridge-freezer, providing ample storage space for your groceries.

For restful nights, Poppy’s Cottage offers comfortable sleeping arrangements across its three bedrooms. The master bedroom boasts a luxurious king-size bed, while two additional bedrooms provide two single beds and a bunk bed respectively. Built-in wardrobes in the master and second bedrooms, along with drawer storage, ensure ample space for your belongings.

The attic room also offers drawer storage for added convenience. Freshen up in the modern shower room conveniently located on the first floor, providing a refreshing start to your day.
Outside, a front lawn space awaits, offering a serene spot to soak in the stunning vistas stretching across to Riber Castle and the Derwent Valley. Gather around the tables and chairs with your morning coffee or evening drinks, basking in the beauty of the surrounding landscape.

While the rear entrance serves as a fire exit only and the rear garden is not accessible to guests, fear not, as Matlock offers an array of amenities to enhance your stay. Explore the town’s local shops, including butchers and bakers, or enjoy a meal at one of the many charming bars and restaurants dotting the streets.

Parking

There is parking available at the junction of the bottom of Jackson Tor Road, this is free, street-side and plentiful parking. We advise that you are able to drop off bags by the gate but, wouldn’t advise parking on the street as it is a dead end with no turning space, does mean next to no traffic though!

Entry to the property is at the brow of the hill, approximately 100 yards from the parking, as you reach the brow, turn back on yourself to the right and the gate is black and to the left hand side. Proceed up the stairs and the door is the left hand of two. with spectacular views over Matlock and the Derwent Valley.
